The Gift Of Tea

English Lifestyle

Offering a warm cup of tea to our guests when they enter our world is a natural part of what we do. It’s a daily ritual that is laced within the Artemano DNA. It’s a simple gesture. A humble offering.  But one that symbolizes and says so much. It’s our way of welcoming people into our home, of letting them know that we embrace and are honoured by their presence. That they are welcomed to stay for as long as they want. That their comfort and joy within our space is important to us.

A simple cup of tea strikes up a conversation. It is a catalyst. Allowing us to learn about our guests. Hear about where they come from. Who their significant other might be. A favourite childhood memory or favourite food may be remembered or mentioned in between sips.

A single cup holds enough power to touch people. Through its scents and flavours tea complements the senses that are already stimulated when visitors find themselves in our escapes.

With a shared love for all of earth’s organic goodness, a collaboration with the front-runner in the world of tea was natural for us. The people at DAVIDsTEA are just as passionate about tea as we are about creating escapes at home. And we both share a love of nature. So we joined forces with them to explore how tea can be used as more than just a beverage.  Tea is an authentic part of who we are and has us come full circle. It makes our escape so much more relaxing and what better place to enjoy our tea than in a relaxing setting.

We discovered that tea can be diverse and playful, especially when used in non-conventional ways.

Why not have fun with tea tins and place them on an open bookshelf?  We decided to line our tea tins in a minimalistic, orderly fashion. This offers clear and easy accessibility when wanting to brew that next cup, which nurtures as much the soul as it warms the body during our chilly winter months. Instead of using traditional accessories, it’s also a decorating alternative that adds a fresh splash of colour and additional texture to our space.

When tea is used as potpourri, its rich aromas fill up our space creating an invisible blanket that wraps us up in warmth and comfort. It also infuses the home with lush exotic odours that can take us onto a sensory journey.

Inhaling the complex yet delicate mixture of white and green teas, jasmine pearls and white hibiscus blossoms that make up DAVIDsTEA's Buddha’s Blend carries us to a blissful, calming place.  When the aromas of Cardamom French Toast hits our nostrils we are yet again transported. But this time to somewhere far reaching. With hints of cinnamon, cardamom, lemon peel, coriander seeds, coconut and cane sugars we now travel to South East Asia.

Instead of hiding tea in our cupboards, we opt to expose its beauty. We showcase it underneath glassware that keeps it fresh and at bay from collecting dust. The tea can then still be used for drinking. By combining a traditional accessory with one of nature’s gems, we also create an original and pretty way of decorating our coffee table.

Exploring our creativity is a natural part of our day-to-day at Artemano. Working with DAVIDsTEA was just as fun as it was complementary to our creative process. It proved to be an inspiration that solidified our belief that even nature’s smallest elements can enhance our ambiance.  Help turn it into one that is unlike any other.

When guests enter the Artemano world they become fully immersed into an experience. Tea is as much a part of this experience, as much a part of us, as are all the nature rooted pieces that fill up our ambiances. It is a component that adds to the warmth, comfort, sense of well-being and enchantment that we try to exude through our escapes.
