For Artemano truer words couldn’t have been written. The power and meaning that they hold is at the crux of one of our core philosophies: that nature is our guide.
It’s no secret that we are lovers of wood and all that is organic. The relationship between us at Artemano and nature is deep and meaningful. As a magical force with limitless power, nature never ceases to amaze us. We revere nature because of its richness and because it’s at the source of all that we do.
Ours is a relationship that was ignited when Shimon Finkelstein, the founder of Artemano, was awe-struck upon first hearing Leonard Cohen sing the chorus of Anthem. As of that moment all became clear to Finkelstein. What quickly ensued was a new and improved understanding and appreciation of nature. As Finkelstein says himself, “I realized that nature has nothing to do with how perfect a creation is, but rather how deep and complete it is.”
Ever since, this epiphany has been Artemano’s guiding light. The evidence is clear when you walk into an Artemano boutique or look through Artemano photographs. What you discover aren’t just pieces of furniture, but ambiances that are profoundly-rooted in nature. Colours that are earthy and powerful turquoises that are a representation of our love of the Mediterranean. We search the earth’s most remote locations to deliver pieces that aren’t perfect, but that carry nature’s perfect handiwork. No two Artemano items are identical. Each Artemano piece – as with all that nature holds in its grasp - is unique. That is why we celebrate and aim to emphasize the distinct beauty of nature’s imperfections.
At Artemano, our story, like nature’s very own is one of evolution. One that is propelled by our ever present curiosity. This is our engine that empowers us to reach further and progress. It’s what drives us to question, search, discover and learn all about what nature has to offer us. Nature feeds our curiosity.
