Fall colours

About English

Fall is definitely here and winter is just around the corner! As much as I would like to say that I love all seasons equally, I can’t because it’s not the truth! I love the heat and sun, and I dread the cold months. The only thing that makes the cold bearable are the cozy fabrics, colors and décor that comes with it.

This season’s hottest colors are neutrals and deep tones which are being used hand in hand with vibrant and bright colors to create rooms you don’t mind staying in for.

Grey and “greige” are still my favourite neutrals. They can be warm and soft to create a serene environment, or they can be deep and rich for a little more drama. I love a dark grey couch coupled with Artemano’s Suar Wood Live Edge Coffee Table on Four Wooden Legs. Its natural features draw a warm, raw vibe that reminds me of cozy afternoons at a cottage, sitting around a fire! Its versatile design allows it to beautifully complement any modern or traditional room.

A softer pale grey wall goes beautifully with the Lisa Dining Table in Rosewood with Silver Legs. The Light Olive color will pull out the light grey in your walls and highlight it perfectly. The angled silver legs add an interesting design element, but don’t take away any seat space as they are nicely tucked in the center. This table is perfect for those nights when the weather is too miserable to go out, so you entertain at home.

Everyone knows that the paint on your wall sets the tone of your room but we often overlook the ceiling as a decorative surface. Consider painting or wallpapering your ceiling in a rich fuchsia, or teal color and hang the Zig Zag Hanging Lamp made of Iron. The black color of the iron contrasting with the radiant color of your paint will absolutely pop. What a statement to make!

A really easy and inexpensive way to change your décor each season is with textiles. Bedding and pillows are easy to switch out and store so you can get a fresh new look every 4 months. I love the Chandi bedding collection in gold and brown for fall. The richness of the color contrast is perfect for the cooler weather.

As always, whatever color combination you’re using, just make sure that you love it. Never bring a piece of furniture into your home if it doesn’t make you feel happy and warm each time you look at it! Sit down on your cozy grey couch, put your feet up on your bright magenta pouf and enjoy the changing colors of the leaves!
